New legislation by National Popular Vote

I would like to start with the words of one of this country’s great Republicans.

And now a few words from President Abraham Lincoln:

“… that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain -- that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

Those words are from Lincoln’s “Gettysburg Address” delivered November 19, 1863.

In my view, that government of the people, by the people, and for the people, has perished from this earth! My question is, are we going to do anything to bring it back?

In America our government is divided into 3 branches, all three of which have failed.

It is time for us in America to follow the lead of so many other countries, and hold our government accountable to us. For to long now we have allowed our government to do anything they chose in our name.

Our legistative branch has become the American aristocracy. They are like the Royal Family of England. And they toil not. While the American people suffer, they play political games.

It is time to add a new Amendment to our Constitution. This Amendment would grant “We The People”, the right to bring new legislation to a National Popular Vote.
